AIAC Accreditation Standards

The AIAC Accreditation Standards are built on international best practices but tailored to Africa’s unique institutional, regulatory, and economic context. They are designed to strengthen organizations by fostering compliance, integrity, governance, and sustainability, while supporting inclusive social and economic growth across the continent.

AIAC accreditation focuses on the relevance, governance, compliance systems, and impact of an organization. It evaluates how effectively institutions implement anti-financial crime frameworks, ensure transparency, and contribute to trust and development in their operating environment.

Organizations must maintain strong compliance frameworks, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CFT), Sanctions Compliance, Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), Cybersecurity, and Data Protection. They must also show continuous monitoring, training, and improvement.
